Why do Foxes LoveLemons?
Let’s talk about Lori Yates.
The creative force behind the immensely popular foodies blog FoxesLoveLemons, Yates is aDetroit food-blogger who’s blog is even more singular than her blog name.
It’s a simple enough story - the name comes from combining her maiden name “Fox” and her affinity for lemons and lemon-flavored foods – and voila – Foxes Loves Lemons. But Lori’s content is what makes her shine, featuring posts that thematically follow a well-known dishes or ingredients and turning them into something unique and completely her own.
Yates’ start as a foodie began as a child when grew up eating dinner with her family every night. According to Lori, it was the sort of thing she didn’t think twice about. However, this knack for cooking seeped over to her college life when she and her less-than-rich roommates cooked out of a book called “The College Cookbook.”
Fast-forward through five years of working in advertising and culinary school, and Yates is now a successful food-blogger and influencer, having some of her recipes and posts featured on sites like Buzzfeed, Food52, ABC News and The Kitchn.
Recently Yates wrapped up a campaign with V8Veggie Blends. The campaign asked her to create two blogs incorporating the brand signature veggie blend juice into an authentic blog post n the form of a recipe, while discussing new and emerging health trends.
Inspired by the ask, Yates used the brand’s CarrotMango V8 to make a glaze for roasted carrots and, in another post, frozen yogurt pops. Using the product to create two vastly different foods, Yates flaunted the product in a way only she could.
The result? A satisfied blogger, a satisfied advertiser, and most importantly, a satisfied appetite.
